Welcome to the May edition of ‘What’s That You’re Doing?’
|
If you had Paul appearing on Royal Mail Stamps, Table Manners podcast and celebrating National Vegetarian Week on your 2021 bingo scoresheet, then congratulations May has been the month for you.
After we quickly teased that something was coming with a photo of a post box taken by Linda McCartney, this month we finally got to announce that Royal Mail will release a set of twelve Special Stamps and limited edition collectables celebrating Paul's solo music career. The collection, which was made in close collaboration with Paul, features a selection of eight LPs from McCartney released in 1970 through to Paul’s most recent No.1 album, McCartney III. The Paul McCartney Royal Mail stamp collections are available now.

Whether you were in ‘The Heart Of The Country’ or in ‘The Backseat of My Car’, you may have spotted that this month marked 50 years since Paul and Linda McCartney’s 1971 album RAM was released, and we couldn’t resist a celebration with a special limited-edition, half-speed mastered vinyl pressing. Pick up your copy here!
We also got the #RAMiversary celebrations started with the newly HD remastered music videos for ‘Heart Of The Country’ and '3 Legs’, new canvas videos for each RAM track on Spotify and to mark the day we joined fans across the globe with an exclusive Listening Party.
If that wasn’t enough to make you ‘Smile Away’ Paul joined us on Zoom for a special RAM themed ‘You Gave Me The Answer’ fan Q&A. From writing with Linda to how his feelings about the album changed over time, find out what Paul said here and remember you can share your memories of RAM on social media with the hashtag #RAMiversary.

Whilst there’s plenty to ‘Ram On’ about, May has also been the month to ‘Eat At Home’ as we celebrate 30 years of Linda McCartney Foods and #NationalVegetarianWeek. Continuing Linda’s vegetarian legacy and encouraging our green fingers with the new #GYOwithLindas program (Can you spot Paul in the video?). Paul also showed his support for another environmental cause this month, as he encouraged fans to watch Netflix’s documentary Seaspiracy.
Ahead of the publication of Linda McCartney's Family Kitchen cookbook next month; Paul and Mary McCartney also joined Table Manners podcast hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware to talk food, family and fighting at the dinner table in a veggie-friendly episode. Listen Here!
This month Paul shared a message on the recent passing of friend and lead engineer in charge of the Kisses on the Bottom sessions, Al Schmitt. Read Paul’s tribute to Al here.
