Hello and welcome to the March edition of 'What's That You're Doing?'

So, there’s a lot to look forward to, but what else has Paul been up to this month? The 3rd March marked World Book Day, and Paul celebrated by giving out three pairs of copies of Hey Grandude! and Grandude’s Green Submarine to some lucky readers on Instagram. On 17th March Paul shared a photo taken in Ireland for St Patrick’s Day, and on 27th March wished a “Happy Mother’s Day to all you mums around the world”, posting a photo of his mum on social media. Sadly, at the end of March the tragic news broke that Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had passed away. Paul reflected on the time he spent with Taylor in the studio and when he inducted the band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: read his tribute in full here.
Here at PaulMcCartney.com spring is actually our second favourite season… after Awards Season! Just like Moira Rose we look forward to the BAFTAs, the GRAMMYs, the Brits and more, and you may have heard a familiar Paul McCartney classic playing at the Oscars last weekend, when the Academy celebrated 60 years of James Bond. This month’s ‘Sticking Out Of My Back Pocket’ Spotify playlist features songs that have been nominated for awards, have featured in award-winning films or have won awards themselves – listen here, and we’ll see you after the GRAMMYs next month!
All the best, |
