To quote the 1979 Wings B-side: Spin it on! Paul’s latest release The 7” Singles Box is here. This collection of 80 x 7” vinyl singles features 163 tracks totalling over 10 hours of music, personally curated by Paul.
The 80 singles are all housed in a special wooden art crate, and limited to 3000 physical copies. We went behind the scenes at the factory in Chesterfield, UK to meet the team building these beautiful crates – watch here. And to give you a sneak peek into the contents of the box, you can read an excerpt from the essay book introduction on PaulMcCartney.com, written by music journalist Rob Sheffield. Check it out here! You can also read an except from Paul's foreword to the essay book via Rolling Stone - read it here.
While the spotlight is on some of Paul’s most iconic singles, we’ve taken the opportunity to dig into the archives and remaster selected music videos in HD. Watch the restored videos for ‘Mull of Kintyre’ and ‘Tug of War’ here – and keep an eye out for more coming soon…
This incredible boxset has also been released digitally, which means a whole host of B-side rarities are available to stream for the first time including ‘Growing Up Falling Down’, ‘Secret Friend’, and ‘Summer of ‘59’. In fact, we wanted to give them a moment at the top of our own charts, so this month’s ‘Sticking Out Of My Back Pocket’ Spotify playlist is a bumper B-side special featuring tracks that have just been added to the platform. Listen here.
